Dyson engineers always start from the existing problem. In the process of developing a new device, they analyzed various techniques for creating styling and revealed problems requiring solutions: confusing hair, damage from exposure to high temperatures, weak or uncontrolled air flow.
The basis of the solution of these difficulties was a fundamentally new idea: to use the extensive capabilities of the Dyson engine with digital control to reproduce the so -called Koand effect. This physical phenomenon occurs when an air flow with high speed runs along the surface and, due to the pressure difference, envelops it.
Using this principle, a Dyson engineer team specializing in aerodynamics invented a styling method in which a combination of air flow and heating is used. As a result, whether it is about creating curls, light waves or just drying, styling will always look natural, and the hair will become more smooth and shiny, not exposed to the destructive effect of high temperatures.

A team of Dyson engineers and researchers in the field of trichology (hair science) analyzed the hair from roots to tips. After the creation of their own laboratories, which incorporated the last world’s achievements in the field of hair study, the team was engaged in the study and testing of various types of natural strands, as well as people’s habits during styling. This made it possible to draw conclusions that girls are divided into two categories:
- Those who strive for voluminous, elastic, flying curls. They want to avoid the effect of weakened hair without volume.
- Those who strive for smooth curls without losing volume. Often they try to curb curly and fluffy hair with excessive volume.
Dyson V9 patented engine is based . The combination of this motor and unique nozzles made it possible to styling with air, without the use of extreme temperatures.
When operating the engine in the upper part of the cylindrical nozzle, a high -pressure zone is created. High -speed air flow spreads through six air channels located along the nozzle. Thus, the effect of a coat arises, which allows you to wind a strand of hair on a nozzle and create curls.
In soft and hard brushes, the effect of coat is also used. The brushes are aligned and smoothed out with drying, increasing its shine and giving smoothness at the end of the laying.

Often hair styling involves drying and subsequent giving the hair form. Dyson AirWrap TM styler allows you to do laying directly during drying. In each hair there are hydrogen bonds that are easily destroyed when wetting curls, this allows the strands to be easily stretched. When the hair dries, hydrogen bonds are restored and its shape is fixed.
